Last year’s chapter of 2023 has come to a close - it's time to reflect on the remarkable journey across the year. From the ground-breaking Public release of the MASQ web3 browser, to the strategic partnerships, all the while fostering our vibrant community, here is a comprehensive recap of how MASQ has now ‘activated the gateway’ which sets the stage for 2024 to usher in the next generation of web3 users through the MASQ ecosystem.

“MASQ Spaces” - Redefining the Web3 Experience
The unveiling of a refined “MASQ Spaces” marked a pivotal moment in our pursuit of a DesktopOS-style experience. This release transformed MASQ Browser into more than just a window into the internet as a browser app - it solidified MASQ’s position as a web3 playground with privacy by default. MASQ Core - Elevating MASQ Infrastructure
MASQ Core (the underlying networking protocol software here) underwent significant upgrades, especially within the Accountant module which handles the peer to peer payment recording ledgers and optimizing the communications component for MASQ Network infrastructure. These enhancements lay the foundation for a more robust and efficient MASQ experience. Explore the open source codebase on our GitHub.
MASQ Browser Public Testnet - Opening the Doors for Everyone
In October 2023, the project achieved the most significant milestone in it’s history with the release of Public Testnet using MASQ web3 browser app version 0.8! The browser app is available for everyone to download now at masqbrowser.com!
Users can explore the latest features and provide valuable feedback on our user feedback forum here.
Expanding Browser Extension Support
Welcoming additional browser extensions, MASQ browser now integrates seamlessly with Frame wallet and offers SendWallet as an ecosystem partner - a special nod to POKT Network for decentralized RPC communications. These privacy-first companions enhance the overall MASQ experience, ensuring flexibility for users.
“MASQ Premium” Access - New & Better Features
Upon Public Testnet launch, MASQ Premium Access was also included in the browser app, offering advanced features and enhanced configuration options within the MASQ Browser.

Web3 dApp Store Additions
Our commitment to expanding the decentralized app store continues with web3 dApp additions. The web3 dApp store is an important component that provides a layer of verification for dApps and web3 platforms to ensure that users can confidently navigate to them without clicking on phishing links.
Notable additions were Balancer, Betswirl, Dragonmaster, ENS, Presearch, Skiff and several others, all added last year.
Our open-source web3 dApp directory is loaded with official links and ensures a secure private browsing experience.

Throughout the year, we hosted various competitions, from public testnet challenges to Skiff partner competitions and a festive Xmas hunt. These initiatives aimed to involve and reward our vibrant community. Congrats to all winners and make sure you follow us on X to be the first to participate and have a chance to share your experiences and win prizes and recognition.

Our comprehensive Token Economy document serves as a central point of information for our utility token and the history behind the MASQ project’s inception from 2019. It outlines everything anyone needs to know about the $MASQ utility token and its role within our ecosystem.
User Stats - Growing Community of Holders
Our token community witnessed substantial growth, showcasing the increasing interest and belief in the MASQ ecosystem.
Scanning the 2024 Horizon
As we look ahead for the year, there are major milestones planned in preparation for the MASQ ecosystem to official deploy Public Mainnet on Polygon PoS (and perhaps other blockchain ecosystems!)
Enhanced User Panel for MASQ Browsing and Serving, including “Price Limiter” so users can monitor and control their usage of $MASQ utility tokens
MASQ Hop Selector, allowing users to modify number of hops across MASQ Network to enhance speed (less hops) or alternatively enhance security (more hops)
Additional Wallet extension support and other browser add-ons
MASQ Premium feature set expanded to include browser customization, loyalty benefits with partners and enhanced privacy options
Incoming formal partners, starting with a well-known web3 decentralized namespace project.
Community initiatives, including marketing outreach ramp-up and targeted user onboarding campaigns
